Tyst minut för utdöda arter...

Jag fick nyss en inbjudan på FB om att delta i en tyst minut över utdöda arter den 23 september. Såhär stod det:

Please come together wherever you are on the 23rd of September.
Share with others, or just be on your own stillness for a world-wide one silent minute reflection for all the species rendered extinct by human hand.

For those within reach of the English South Downs - we will gather at the Life Cairn on Mount Caburn at around 4.30pm then a bell will ring at 5pm for the silent moment. We will lay a stone for the recently extinct Japanese River Otter and then there will be space for anyone to express whatever

they feel - through words, song, dance, tears, music or stillness....
Afterwards, we will gather down the hill with a drink and perhaps by a fire, to discuss ways forward for ths initiative. All who care to connect with it are very welcome ♥

Please share this with your Temples, Churches, Ashrams, Forest Groves, Mosques, Atheist think tanks, Environmental groups, Organisations, Companies, Families and Friends - to raise awareness for the sixth mass global extinction we are living through today, and to remember the:

Jag tycker allt att man skall uppmärksamma, eller kanske snarast ha utdöda arter i bakhuvudet. De visar hur föränderlig vår värld är, samt hur lätt det kan vara att skada den. Listan ovanför tar upp en bunt utdöda arter. Jag antar att de flesta har en art som de tycker är intressantare. Personligen tycker jag att Stellers Sjöko (Hydrodamalis gigas) är lite extra intressant bland de utdöda arterna, kanske beroende på att en av mina handledare på universitetet ett tag forskade på DNA från just Stellers Sjöko. Den utrotades 1768 genom jakt. Här är en bild:
